Yukon Financial Aid for Canadian Students with Disabilities

Securing funds for post-secondary education can be challenging, but students in Yukon and across Canada have access to valuable government and private scholarship programs. This guide details key financial aid options, including the territorial grants administered by the Yukon government and the national RE/MAX Quest for Excellence scholarship, to help you build a strong financial plan for your studies.

For the latest details and to apply, visit the official Yukon Student Financial Assistance Portal.

Yukon Grant

The Yukon Department of Education is your primary point of contact for financial aid in the territory. It administers federal Canada Student Loans and Grants, as well as territorial-specific funding. Full-time Yukon students can access the Yukon Grant, and students with permanent disabilities should inquire with their institution about eligibility with a reduced course load.

Canada Student Grant for Services & Equipment for Students with Disabilities (CSG-DSE)

As a student with a disability, you may require education-related services and equipment to participate fully in your post-secondary studies. You may be eligible to receive up to $20,000 per academic year.

The CSG-DSE grant is intended to reimburse you for the cost of these supports, such as:

  • specialized tutors;
  • note takers;
  • Braille products; or
  • voice-recognition software.

The above are examples of eligible supports and is not an exhaustive list. Many other types of equipment or services are also covered.
